Andrew's journey is one of transformation and purpose. Embracing sobriety since December 2019, he's more than just a recovering alcoholic – he's a devoted husband to Shandra, a proud father, and a passionate advocate for the recovery community. Born and raised in Colorado, Andrew's path took him over seas where he attended high school at The American School of the Hague in the Netherlands before bringing him back to his roots at Colorado Mountain College.
His personal battle with addiction began in 2017, and through multiple attempts at sobriety, he discovered something profound: the power of community. Today, Andrew channels his experiences into creating positive change. Witnessing addiction's grip on both loved ones and strangers ignited a passion within him. He stands firm in his conviction that recovery support should be accessible to all, his mission is to bridge the gap between the suffering and the abundance of Colorado's addiction recovery services. His story isn't just about personal triumph – it's about lighting the way for others on their journey to recovery.

Our Story
Step One Recovery Resources was founded by Andrew, a recovering alcoholic since December 2019. Andrew knows firsthand the struggles associated with beginning and maintaining a recovery journey. In 2017, after years of battling addiction, Andrew hit rock bottom. Desperate, lost, and overwhelmed, he turned to the internet, searching phrases like "how to stop drinking," "am I an alcoholic," and "help with alcoholism." The flood of information made the journey seem insurmountable. In what Andrew calls a "god shot," he found an open bed at a treatment center, and his journey to sobriety began. From his struggle, Step One Recovery Resources was born. Andrew's dream was to create a space where finding help doesn't have to be hard or sold to the highest bidder. A place where both newcomers and seasoned individuals in recovery can find the support they need, and where addicts and their loved ones can access just the right information when and where they need it.
